Lusher Charter School is in partnership with Tulane University.

Lagniappe is Lusher's Lower School after-school program. It is comprised of a diverse range of hands-on, engaging instructional classes such as ballet, guitar, chess, math games, and homework lab. Nearly 70% of Lusher students participate in at least one of these child-centered classes. Lagniappe is staffed by Lusher faculty and students from Tulane’s work-study program. Additionally, the Tulane Reading Room is open daily after school.
This program is unlike traditional after-school programs in that all students have the option to select classes that interests them. Students are able to discover talents, hobbies, and interests that may currently be untapped.
The program has full-time after-care, from 3:30 to 6:00pm. Instructional classes are held (Monday-Thursday) during the first hour, 3:30 to 4:30, followed by after-care from 4:30 to 6:00pm.
Morning Care is from 7:00 to 8:05am. There are part-time options available. Drop-ins may attend homework lab if the student is not enrolled in the program.
Lusher’s Lower School Chess Team is one of the leading chess programs in the city, and members have won local, state, and national level competitions.
The Service Club promotes school-wide initiatives such as food drives and other community efforts that represent the core values at Lusher.
The Newspaper Club is for students interested in presenting the news from a kid’s perspective. The Wild Roar is the group's monthly publication.
Drama Troupe is an audition-based group of third through fifth graders who perform at school events. Students present at least two 45-minutes productions each year. All levels of production are student-driven, including stagecraft work outside of the school day. Drama troupe is taught by Lusher’s theatre staff.
Dance Troupe is an audition-based group of third through fifth graders who perform at local community events as well as at Lusher. Dance Troupe is led by Lusher’s dance staff.
Advanced Orchestra is an audition-based group of third through fifth graders that includes talented musicians with commitment and dedication to the strings program.
A large-scale Scout Program is available for boys and girls of all ages. Most meetings are held at the school site.
